Spectral Requirements
To match the sensor to the application, first consider what color or range of wavelengths your application requires. Ideally, a sensor would have a QE of 1.0 over the entire spectral range. Sensors can be mechanically etched to enable imaging through the back side (back-thinned) with QE’s approaching 0.95, but the yield for these devices are small and carry a correspondingly higher cost.
Quantum Efficiciency
Fraction of photons at wavelength (l) converted to electrons.
